Cell biology is the study of cell structure and function, and it revolves around the concept that the cell is the fundamental unit of life. Focusing on the cell permits a detailed understanding of the tissues and organisms that cells compose. 

WHY IS CELLULAR BIOLOGY IMPORTANT FOR BIOENGINEERS?

Bioengineers must have general knowledge about human body functions at any level, that includes, of course, molecular and cellular level. The basics of cell biology are, therefore, to be understood. It is important in some of the fields of bioengineering: NANOTECHNOLOGY, REGENERATIVE MEDICINE, among others.
